“Melted”

Blessings folk!

The children of Israel had crossed the Jordan.
They were on the west side.
They were entering the land that the Lord had promised!

But, there were people already upon the land.
Wonder how they responded?

We do not need to wonder…

Jos 5:1
As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west,
and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea,
heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan
for the people of Israel until they had crossed over,
their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.
ESV

The people heard.
They heard the Lord had dried the waters of the Jordan to allow passage.
They heard the people had crossed - millions.
They heard the water returned to the Jordan.

Their hearts melted.
They no longer had any spirit in them…spirit of hope, spirit to fight/resist, etc.

We need to remember this.
Fear not at the threat of the enemy.
The Lord provides.
Do what the Lord says.
He will address the enemy.
He will melt hearts.
He will dry spirits.
He will fight!
