“Claiming to be Wise, They Became Fools”

Blessings folk!

We read it yesterday.
The ungodly…
The unrighteous…
They knew/know God.

God has placed within every human the awareness of Him.
God has made evident to every human being the reality of creation.
Both testify of the power of the Godhead.

What is their response?
Read again…

Rom 1:21-23
For although they knew God,
they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him,
but they became futile in their thinking,
and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Claiming to be wise,
they became fools,

and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man
and birds and animals and creeping things.
ESV

They did not honor Him as God.
They did not give Him thanks.

What is the result?

They became futile in their thinking.
Their foolish hearts were darkened.
Claiming to be wise they became fools.
They exchanged the glory of the immortal God…all mankind is made in the image of God.
They exchanged the glory of the Lord God for images.
Images resembling mortal man.
Images of birds.
Images of animals.
Images of creeping things.

Think on this.

They think they are wise.
Wiser than God.
They reject the “image of God” and create other images to worship.

Such is the way of man.
Dishonoring.
Unthankful
Futile
Foolish

Reject it.
