“They…”

Blessings folk!

God gives those who refuse to acknowledge Him over to their desires.
A depraved/debased mind is the result.

Rom 1:28
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God,
God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
ESV

What does this look like in life?

Rom 1:29-31
They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice.
They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness.
They are gossips,

slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
ESV

Whoa!

Did you note the structure of the thought?
“They are filled with…”
“They are full of…”
“They are…”

They are filled with…

• unrighteousness
• evil
• covetousness
• malice
  …all manner of such.
  All!
  Not limited!

They are full of…

• envy
• murder
• strife
• deceit
• maliciousness

Out of all this they become…
They are…

• gossips
• slanderers
• haters of God
• insolent
• haughty
• boastful
• inventors of evil
• disobedient of parents
• foolish
• faithless
• heartless
• ruthless

The fruit of man going his own way.
The fruit of man rejecting the knowledge of God.
