“Haters of God”

Blessings folk!

We are looking at Romans 1 and seeing the ungodly and unrighteous as described by the Lord.

Does any of this look familiar?
LOL, of course it does.
We see it everywhere in the world.
We see it as struggles against sin within ourselves.

There is a difference.
This is who the world is…”filled with”, “full of”, therefore, “they are”.

We as True Believers are new creatures, new creations.

We can choose to sin, but we do not “have to” because it is our nature.
Our nature is now “saint/holy one”.
When we sin it is because we choose to, not because we have to.

Rom 1:29c-31
They are gossips,
slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
ESV

They are gossips and slanderers, as we have seen.

Now…they are haters of God.

The Greek word is “theostuges”.
It means “hating/haters/hateful to God”, “impious”, “one who has turned against God”.
They do so with robust, exceptional hatred.
It is intense.

We see haters of God everywhere.
Some are in the “professing church”.

But, fear not!
Remember, such were some of us.

Share the gospel.
Live the gospel.
Manifest the Power and Presence of the Lord…and see who He draws into the Kingdom.
