“As He Did…”

Blessings folk!

Darius signed the document and injunction.

Daniel was not there.
Though he be one of the three high officials.

Of course, Daniel would learn of the edit…give close attention.

Dan 6:10
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

Daniel knows the document is signed.
It is assumed that he knows what is contained in the document.

What did Daniel do?
He did as he had done previously.
He did as was his habit.
He went to his house.
He went to the upper chamber of his house where he had windows open toward Jerusalem.
He prayed.
He did this three times a day, as was his habit.
He did exactly what he had been doing before.
He gave thanks before the Lord.
Thanks in the midst of an obvious threat.
Thanks in all things.

This was the plan of the high officials and satraps.
They sought to entrap Daniel in relation to his God.
The next verse confirms…
Dan 6:11
Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and plea before his God.
ESV

They came by agreement…by plan.
They found Daniel doing exactly what he had always done.
Making petitions before God.
Pleading before God.

Daniel trusted the Lord.
They trusted in themselves.
