“Friend”

Blessings folk!

Jesus was clear.

It is a commandment.

We are to love OneAnother.

Jesus then reveals the depth of such love…

John 15:12-13

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

ESV

We are to love OneAnother as Jesus loves us.

There is no greater love than this…to lay down a life for a friend.

Jesus was in the process of doing exactly this.

He tells them more…

John 15:14

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

ESV

Doing what Jesus commands is evidence of friendship with Him.

We are His companions.

John 15:15

No longer do I call you servants,

for the servant does not know what his master is doing;

but I have called you friends,

for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

ESV

Jesus no longer calls us “servants”.

We are His friend.

Servants no not what the master is doing.

Friends know.

Jesus has made known to us all that He has heard from Father.
